In addition to piano, violin and guitar instruction that is available prior to the age of nine now students are age appropriate for voice, woodwinds, brass, and percussion.

VOICE:
The students are taught both proper singing technique and a variety of song styles.  Students learn correct breathing technique, diction, vowel production, tone quality and how to expressively perform a song.  It is important for the student to have a well-rounded repertoire of songs.  Students will learn sacred, fold, Broadway, pop, opera, and art songs.  The recommended age for the youngest private vocal lesson is nine.  Any person desiring to receive voice lessons before the age of nine will be interviewed by the voice instructor. The decision of acceptance into the voice program is made by the voice instructor.

BRASS (Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, and Tuba) WOODWINDS (Clarinet, Saxophone, and Flute), and PERCUSSION (Snare Drums and Drum Set):
The instrumental program is a vital integrated component at The Arts at Good Samaritan.  All instructional materials used are standard literature publications including all styles of music.  We work closely with the area Band Directors to assist in preparing students for band requirements.  Solos are selected from the Florida Bandmasters Association required listings.  Our goal is to establish woodwind, brass, and percussion ensembles as well as to form a Christian contemporary band and a rock band.
