Creative Movement:

 This class is designed to be a fun and exciting introduction into the world of dance and music for children 18 months - 5 years of age. Students will experiment with sound and rhythm while using instruments such as shakers and bells. Scarves, ribbons and balls will help the students learn about spatial awareness, balance and coordination. All Good Samaritan Academy students will receive Creative Movement classes as part of their fun and exciting curriculum.

 


Pre-Ballet:

Pre-Ballet (ages 2-3) is to prepare the young children for the different levels of ballet. In pre-primary we will go over the basics of ballet, as well as learn ballet etiquette and general motor skills. We will also In explore some creative movement.

 


Primary Ballet:

Primary Ballet (ages 4 - 6) we strive to provide the students a more structured class than pre-primary, but we still include creative movement and stress the importance of ballet etiquette and general motor skills.

 


Beginning Ballet and Tap:

This combo class will introduce 4- 6 year olds to the basic steps of tap dancing and ballet. In this class ballet technique and etiquette is taught as well as for tap steps such as shuffles, flaps, toe-heels, and time steps will be choreographed into fun routines.

 


Beginning Irish (Soft-shoe):

This class is an introduction to the basic steps of Irish softshoe dancing. The student will learn the basic jig and reel steps that make up traditional progressive and figure dances. This class is great for anyone of any age that wants to get in shape while having a great time learning this social form of dance.

 


Intermediate Irish:

This combo class of soft-shoe and hard-shoe is for students that have had one or more years of Irish dance.

 


Adult/Teen Irish:

This combo class of soft-shoe and hard-shoe is for all students of all levels. Often the first year students will have special classes to master the beginning steps.
