Who We Are

Good Samaritan United Methodist Church wants to be the church of God's dreams. Jesus taught that the greatest commandment is to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul and mind and to love your neighbor as your self."  If that is the greatest commandment then that is where we start visioning with God.  We believe God's love is best experienced and shared through loving relationships in the family, in the neighborhood and in the greater community, locally and globally.

Good Samaritan Church is a new United Methodist congregation forming now in the southeast part of Tallahassee. As travelers on the path of life, it is frustrating when those who can help us pass us by. We want our friends to feel the love of God working through us, no matter who they are.

"You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.' And Love your neighbor as yourself.'"  Luke 10:27 NLT

God created all people with a need for community, identity and purpose.  In a healthy Christian community all these needs are met and the Kingdom of this world becomes the Kingdom of our God!   Our calling is to Love God will all our hearts, soul, strength and mind: and love our neighbors as ourselves.   We believe God's love is best experienced and shared through loving relationships made in the family, the neighborhoods where we live and in the greater community locally and globally.     We believe that the Kingdom of God expands and we grow in the love of Christ as we:   Worship Together, Learn Together, Serve Together and Play Together.

We will begin home groups in various neighborhoods around the city of Tallahassee in January 2007.  The grand opening of our Sunday morning worship service is planned for August 2007.  We will meet in the cafeteria at Florida High School until our first building is completed on property we own across from SouthWood on Capital Circle Southeast.
